September 9: Learn to cook Ginger Beef

Join Elyse Chatterton for our crowd pleasing virtual cooking class on how to make Ginger Beef. A Canadian Chinese takeout classic, Ginger Beef made it’s first appearance in Calgary, Alberta in the 1970’s. Together with Elyse, you’ll start with some essential knife skills as you learn how to slice your beef then julienne red peppers and carrots, to toss together with your battered and fried beef, in a sweet and spicy ginger sauce. Then you’ll serve your beef with a bowl of steamed jasmine rice.

September 14: Learn to make Steak Tacos

Join Kathryn for our September edition of Taco Tuesday, and learn how to make her Skirt Steak Tacos. During your online cooking class you’ll learn how to cook your steak in a cast iron pan, and how to prepare two salsas to complement your steak too: one Red; the other Green. We’ll walk you through our favourite garnishes, plus Elyse will teach you how to shake up a complementary Margarita! Then we’ll show you how to assemble a perfectly beautiful and delicious Taco using your seared Skirt Steak (you can use Rib Eye if you prefer), as you sip on that Margarita.  Join our virtual cooking class and take your taste buds on a journey to Mexico, from the comfort of your home kitchen!

September 18: Learn to make Buddha Bowls

Buddha bowls get their name from the Buddha’s delightfully round belly — everything about this vegetarian meal just makes us feel good! Chef Darcy will teach you how to put together a healthy and perfectly constructed Buddha Bowl, packed with oven roasted veggies, spiced chickpeas, and an out-of-this-world maple tahini dressing. 

September 12-22: Learn to Hand Roll Pasta with an Italian Nonna

Cook Pasta from scratch with Nonna in her kitchen, let her share with you her culinary secrets and the traditional authentic Pasta technique. Listen to her stories and be ready to be involved in our community.An entire village of women is involved in this project. Nonna Nerina, and the other grandmas can’t wait to meet all of you as part of this zoom class.

September 21: Learn to Make Churros with a Mexican Chef

Learn to cook an authentic Mexican Sweet from scratch. To start, we will have a small meet and greet and our traditional overview. In the next hour, we will guide you in preparing the churros and dips. Our experience includes practical recipes that you can easily follow at home and cook for your family and friends.

September 26: Learn to make Bao

Join Masterchef Alumna Mai Nguyen for this tasty virtual cooking class on how to make Bao Sandwiches, from scratch. Together with Mai you’ll learn how to make and steam your own Bao Buns and how to prepare two different fillings too. During our online cooking class Mai will walk you through making your own Bao dough then how to roll it into buns and how to steam them. And you’ll learn how to marinate and  roast pork shoulder for Mai’s Char Siu filling as well as how to fry up a batch of Shrimp for a decadently delicious Peaches & Shrimp filling.
