30 Edmonton Parks Offer FREE Sports Equipment Rentals this Summer
Free Sports Gear at Your Local Park? Edmonton Just Made Summer Even Better. If you've ever shown up to the park with excited kids and zero equipment, this one's for you. Find them at your favourite local parks starting June 30, 2026.
Edmonton just became the first city in Alberta to offer free sports equipment lending stations at parks across the city. It's the kind of thing that makes a spontaneous afternoon outside so much easier.
Starting this June, 30 Equip Sports Lockers are popping up at more than 20 parks across Edmonton, thanks to a partnership between the City of Edmonton and Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities. The whole thing is free. No membership, no fees, no catch.
We're talking basketballs, soccer balls, footballs, frisbees, bocce ball sets and more, just waiting at your neighbourhood park.

Where to find the FREE Edmonton Sports Rental Equipment Lockers
There are 30 stations spread across more than 20 Edmonton parks, located near community leagues, schools, and open green spaces. A few highlights:
Confederation Park (stocked with court and field sport gear)
Giovanni Caboto Park
Hawrelak Park
Equipment is actually matched to each location — so river valley spots carry free-play items suited to open spaces, while parks with courts have the balls to go with them. You can find the full interactive map of all locations at edmonton.ca.
