Mark Saturday, November 14 on the calendar for a free - and a morning to give back - outing with the kids. Cineplex is hosting its 14th annual Community Day, with free morning movies, $3 popcorn and free arcade time at participating locations across Edmonton.
It's an easy, budget-friendly outing for a mid-November weekend, and every purchase that day helps kids and teens through BGC Canada.
Free Movies in Edmonton on Cineplex Community Day, November 2026
Free Family Movies, 9 to 11 a.m.
Four family favourites are playing free on Saturday morning: The Lego Movie, Paddington 2, A Minecraft Movie and Tom & Jerry. Screenings run between 9 and 11 a.m. at your local Cineplex Theatre.
You can check showtimes online ahead of time, but you can't book seats. Tickets are handed out at the theatre on a first-come, first-served basis, so plan to arrive early, especially if your crew has its heart set on Minecraft.
$3 Popcorn, Drinks and Candy
Until 11 a.m., a regular popcorn, regular drink and select candy are $3 plus tax. That makes the whole morning about as cheap as a movie outing gets.
Free Game Time at XSCAPE and The Rec Room
At Cineplex theatres with an XSCAPE arcade, kids can pick up a free 30-minute playcard or tokens. These are non-redemption, so they're for playing rather than earning prize tickets.
Over at The Rec Room, free one-hour game bands are available from 9 to 11 a.m. (also non-redemption), and select snacks are $3 plus tax until noon.
Every Purchase Supports BGC Canada
All day on November 14, Cineplex will donate $1 from every concession, food and drink purchase, plus every playcard and game band purchase or reload, to BGC Canada. The national non-profit runs programs and community services for kids and teens.
