Food: Happy Hour with Kids at Fox Burger Bar

Happy hour isn’t just for date night. Happy Hour is a great way to get out and try new local restaurants with kids. It’s a great way to get out and enjoy new food on the cheap and a fantastic way to spend a one on one date with your kids.

There’s no downside to bringing your kids to happy hour, and trying some of the best Happy Hour spots in Edmonton - that’s why we’re kicking off a new series featuring our favourite kid-friendly happy hour restaurants in Edmonton.

This week’s Kid friendly happy hour in Edmonton? Fox Burger Bar in Highlands. Everything on the apps and snacks menu is only five bucks during happy hour. What’s on the menu?

  • fried pickled green tomatoes (for adventurous kids)

  • popcorn chicken (kid favourite)

  • animal fries (get the sauce on the side for fussier kids)

  • spicy mozza sticks (the dill dip is phenomenal, these are a touch spicy if you have kids sensitive to spice - as adults, they were one of our favourite things on the happy hour menu)

  • fried brussel sprouts (so, so, so delicious)

  • fox nachos (kid favourite)

  • spinach and artichoke dip (another kid favourite)

While you’re at Fox Burger, don’t skip the feature milkshake ($7). We did skip it this time around, since this time around the feature milkshake is Eggnog, and not one of our kids is a fan of the nog. However, don’t skip the milkshake because it’s one of the best in the city (Eggnog aside). When you’re finished happy hour, treat yourself because KIND ice cream is right next door. Is there a more perfect date night?

Visiting during the afternoon happy hour usually means you won’t have to wait too long for a table, as it’s in between the lunch and dinner rush. You can walk in, you won’t need a reservation to book online and during the summer, there’s an incredible rooftop patio for incredible Highlands neighbourhood vibes.
