Get Ready in the Park returns for 2026 with a kick off to Emergency Preparedness Week where you can climb inside of a firetruck and emergency response vehicle, meet with experts from around the province and learn more about emergency preparedness in Edmonton.
Get Ready in the Park Returns to Edmonton on May 9, 2026
Hosted by the City of Edmonton’s Office of Emergency Management in recognition of Emergency Preparedness Week, the 17th annual Get Ready in the Park event returns on Saturday, May 9, 2026 between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Learn how to prepare for a variety of emergencies
Meet and talk with emergency responders from the Edmonton and metro region
Learn how emergency responders work together on the frontlines during an emergency
See the inside of a fire truck and other emergency vehicles
Have lunch at one of the on-site food trucks
Local emergency responders, along with almost 50 groups from the region’s emergency response community will be on site to help attendees learn how to prepare for a variety of emergencies.
Getting there: There will be limited free parking available near the event grounds and additional free parking in Borden Park's west parking lot. The event will be accessible via public transit.
ETS Shuttles will run free of charge every 20 minutes between Coliseum Transit Centre (Bus Stop #1206 - Bay G) and the south gate of the EXPO Centre (north side of Borden Park Road and 75 Street).
