Meet Birds of Prey This Winter at Backyard Birds

This winter, something a little extraordinary is taking flight in Spruce Grove. Backyard Birds is inviting the community to get up close with some of nature’s most impressive hunters: birds of prey. From piercing eyes to powerful wings, three remarkable birds are popping up at Backyard Birds for a meet and greet this spring.

January 17, 2026 - Meet Tansi the Great-Horned Owl!

  • Join us Saturday, January 17 from 11 AM to 2 PM a live bird of prey in the store at 15-100 King Street in Spruce Grove!

  • It's FREE to meet Tansi the Great-horned Owl, but donations to the observatory will be accepted and appreciated! No registration required.

  • This opportunity is being offered in partnership with the Beaverhill Bird Observatory.

February 21, 2026 - Meet Keith the Red-Tailed Hawk!

  • Join us Saturday, February 21 from 11 AM to 2 PM a live bird of prey in the store at 15-100 King Street in Spruce Grove!

  • It's FREE to meet Keith the Red-tailed Hawk, but donations to the observatory will be accepted and appreciated! No registration required.
