There’s a New FREE Garden Explorer’s Program on Friday Mornings at STRATHMA

Looking for a fun, low-pressure way to get outside with your kids this spring? There’s something brand new happening at STRATHMA that families are going to want to check out.

Garden Explorers is a free Friday-morning drop-in program designed for kids ages 4+ and their parents. If your child loves digging in the dirt, asking questions about plants, or simply spending time outdoors, this new program at STRATHMA offers a relaxed and welcoming way to connect with nature and each other.

2026 STRATHMA Garden Explorers

Friday mornings from 10:30–11:00 AM, Garden Explorers invites families to roll up their sleeves and spend time caring for a dedicated garden bed while learning more about the natural world. The program is built around hands-on experiences, meaning kids won’t just hear about plants and gardening - they’ll get to plant, and even take-home a seedling.

The first session kicks off on May 29, and organizers are making it extra exciting. Families attending the launch are invited to help plant the garden together, and kids will even get to take home their own bean plant to continue the fun and learning at home. It’s a simple but memorable way to keep the gardening excitement growing long after the morning ends.

There’s also a fun incentive for little explorers who keep coming back: children who attend five or more sessions can earn a pin, giving them something special to work toward while building confidence and familiarity in the garden.

Best of all, Garden Explorers is completely free and designed to be easy to join. There’s no pressure, no complicated registration, just a chance to stop by, spend time outdoors, and enjoy a meaningful activity together.

Quick note for families planning ahead: there will be no program on June 5, 2026.
