Tickets Are On Sale for the Harry Potter DroneArt Show Coming to Edmonton in September
Grab your wands (or at least a warmer layer for fall because the Harry Potter™ DroneArt Show is landing in Edmonton for two nights only. If your family has been waiting for a wizarding-world night out that doesn't involve a flight to Orlando, this one is it - and tickets are on sale now.

Picture this: 1,200+ drones lighting up the night sky above the Exhibition Lands Racetrack, moving in perfect sync with music from the Harry Potter films while a live electric violinist plays overhead. The drones recreate iconic moments and imagery from the wizarding world in massive glowing formations — part light show, part outdoor movie magic, all completely unlike anything else happening in Edmonton this fall.

Arrive earlier than you think you need to. Doors open two hours before showtime, and the event organizers recommend getting there 30 minutes to an hour before the 8:30 PM start. Late entry may not be permitted, so if bedtime negotiations are already a nightly battle, budget extra time to get everyone fed, settled, and in position.
Choose your ticket type carefully. There are two options: Seating (a designated seated section) and Lawn (bring your own blanket to sit on the grass). If you've got little ones who might nap, wiggle, or need to spread out, lawn seating with a big blanket and some cushions is likely the comfier call. Just note that chairs and heels aren't allowed on the lawn — blankets only.
No strollers. This is the one that catches families off guard: the venue isn't stroller-accessible, and prams won't be allowed in. If you're bringing a baby or toddler, plan on baby-wearing or carrying them for the evening.
Dress for a September night outdoors. There's no dress code, but temperatures drop once the sun goes down. Layers, a blanket, and comfortable closed-toe shoes are your friends — no heels allowed on the field.
Food and drinks are available on site — but you can't bring your own. Outside food and beverages aren't permitted, so budget for concessions or make sure everyone eats before you arrive. Butterbeer availability varies by venue, so it's worth checking once you're there rather than promising it in advance.
It's an outdoor, weather-dependent show. If conditions force a cancellation, ticket holders are notified by email — worth double-checking your spam folder in the days leading up.
Know the no-refund policy going in. Dates can be changed up to 48 hours ahead of time if plans shift, but there are no refunds under any circumstances, so it's worth locking in a date you're confident about.
A note for kids with sensory needs. The show is a big sensory experience — lights, live music, and a crowd — which many families have said their kids loved, including children on the autism spectrum. There's no formal accessibility adaptation for visually impaired or deaf guests, so it's worth weighing that against your own child's needs. Guests requiring a support person can request a free carer ticket at the entrance.
