Warwa Woods Is Back: Camp Warwa's Haunted Forest Returns This October
If your tweens and teens have outgrown candy stations and friendly jack-o'-lanterns, this haunted walk outdoors and outside of the city will be a big hit.
Every October, Camp Warwa near Darwell swaps campfire songs for something much creepier. Warwa Woods turns the camp's forest into an outdoor haunt, with two trails winding through the trees in the dark and a story that unfolds as you walk. This year's tale starts in a small fishing village, where a young woman was sacrificed to the lake. What followed was a cult that settled deep in the woods, still making offerings to a figure they call Mother. You'll walk right through their territory.
This outdoor haunt isn’t for the faint of heart. Camp Warwa recommends it for ages 12 and up. There's no hard age limit - so if your kids are up for the scare, they can join in on the experience.
The best part? Every ticket goes to Camp Warwa's Friendship Fund, which helps low-income families send their kids to summer camp. A night of screaming in the woods that pays for someone else's summer in them.
Warwa Woods 2026: What You Need to Know Before You Go
When: Two nights only. October 23–25, 2026, from 7pm to 10pm
Where: Camp Warwa, Darwell, Alberta, about an hour west of Edmonton
Tickets: $22 each, $77 for a family of up to four, or $175 for a group of up to ten. Groups of 20 or more can email info@campwarwa.org.

Visit Camp Warwa Woods this Month
Buy tickets online ahead of time. They're non-refundable, including if you leave early, so be sure your crew is up for it.
Dress for a cold night outside. You'll be on forest trails after dark, so wear warm layers and boots you don't mind getting muddy.
Stay for the campfire. An optional campfire with snacks and warm drinks is available for an extra cost, and it's a good way to come down from the scares.
Plan to drive. There's free parking at the camp, but no public transit out that way.
Check before you bring a wheelchair or stroller. The trails aren't wheelchair accessible.
