The Spooktacular Acreage is back for 2023 and we’re excited to see a field of inflatables and animatronics come to life at this free Halloween event in Edmonton. In exchange for this fun event, bring a donation. This is a very kid-friendly Halloween event, more cute than scary, making it perfect for young families who want to find some Halloween magic outside of Edmonton!

Explore the Edmonton Wildlife Festival
The Wildlife Festival returns to Edmonton for the first time since 2017, taking over the Edmonton Convention Centre October 13th – 15th! There are three feature exhibits that can be found at the festival, and two, unique half-hour hands-on programs for kids and families

Walk through Kiwi Nurseries Haunted House
Are you ready for a spooktacular Halloween? Join the fun for the annual Kiwi’s Haunted House! Explore in the haunted nursery and see our trail system and growing house transformed for this eerily good time! Admission is $6.00 per person, or a food bank donation per person. Tickets will include a small commemorative flashlight, and children under the age of 10 are free.

Get Scared at Spruce Ridge Scare Walk Through Haunted House
A local amateur haunted house sixth year up and running. Spruce Ridge Scare is a family run haunt, for all ages. Visit Thursdays to Sunday, 6pm - 10pm. Bring a non-perishable donation for the Parkland Foodbank or a $5 monetary donation.

Free Family Movie Night: Into the SPiderverse
Join us for a family-friendly showing of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse for FREE on Friday, October 13. Catch a screening on a big screen with friends, the community and enjoy a family-friendly night out in Edmonton. Bring a blanket and make it a cozy movie night out!

Try a Youth Silent Disco!
Put on your dancing shoes and join us for a fun evening of music, rhythm, and excitement at our Youth Silent Disco! All participants will get their own headphones with customizable volume controls, so individuals with hearing sensitivities or impairments can enjoy the event without discomfort. This is a great opportunity for youth to meet others in a fun, social, and safe space.

Reapers Asylum Haunted House Opens for the Season
Visit Reapers Haunted House! It’s an Edmonton Haunted House that will chill and scare you in 2023. Open Friday and Saturday night for regular haunts, with actors and jump scares, and open Sunday 12-4 for low-scare, no actors or jump scares. That’s our jam!

Cambrian Harvest Festival
Join the fun on Saturday October 14 from 1-4pm for an afternoon of free family fun including Pumpkin Painting, Food Trucks, and the grand opening of Cambrian, Sherwood Park! While you’re there, explore the brand new playground. The Cambrian playground serves as a vibrant centerpiece for our community, offering play mounds and waves that inspire imaginative adventures. Its custom design fosters inclusive play for children of all abilities, encouraging challenge and discovery.

Gateway to the Stars at Elk Island Park
Gateway to the Stars is an introductory stargazing program where park interpreters guide participants using star charts to find some of the major constellations visible in the night sky in the fall. We then use the Big Dipper as our Gateway to the Stars to explore other constellations visible to the human eye and along the way tell some of the cultural stories about the constellations. Campfire and a friendly park interpreter are included. Telescopes are not used in this program.

Free ‘Try it’ Artistic Swimming Session
Try Artistic swimming, for free. This fun, drop-in, free try-it swimming session is a great option for boys and girls, aged 6-12, who have comfort in deep water, to try artistic swimming. Children will get a basic feel for the skills required for the sport. To participate, children must be able to swim 15-20m without swim aids.

Visit a Fire Station Open House
Spend a Saturday afternoon during Fire Prevention Week at Leduc Fire Services! Visit the Fire Hall 2 on October 14, 2023 and meet community firefighters, EMS team and explore the fireworks. You can climb on a firetruck, try on the safety gear, meet a firehouse dog and even enter to win prizes.
