  • Write a Story Junior Sessions at EPL | 4:00 p.m.
    We all have a story to tell! Learn about the different parts of a story, explore different ways stories can be told, and write a story of your very own. This program takes place over six weeks. Ages 6-8. Registration is required. There are still spots available to register!

  • Watch 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ on Stage at Festival Place | Until December 28, 2025
    Based on the famous novel by Roald Dahl, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory features an original score composed by Marc Shaiman with lyrics by Shaiman and Scott Wittman (Hairspray) and a book by David Greig. The score also pays homage to the Leslie Bricusse/Anthony Newley score from the 1971 film with songs from the motion picture including "The Candy Man," "I've Got a Golden Ticket," "Oompa Loompa Song," and "Pure Imagination."

  • Tours for Tots at Art Gallery of Alberta | 10:00 p.m.
    Tours for Tots is a weekly in-person art exploration for children ages 3-5 and their parents, consisting of playful activities, whimsical storytelling and hands-on art-making. Our aim is to create a dynamic program which fosters meaningful relationships, community awareness, well-being, visual literacy and creative expression.

  • Charlie Brown Christmas at Yardbird Suite | 8:00 p.m.
    Chris Andrew and his Holiday Quartet will perform Vince Guaraldi’s famous A Charlie Brown Christmas Album in its entirety along with some favourite Holiday songs.

  • FREE Movie Night at Sherwood Park Farmer’s Market | 3:00 p.m.
    Bring your cosy chairs and blankets for a movie night at the Sherwood Park Farmers Market. The Grinch will be attending with us from 4:30 pm - 6:30 pm. Free popcorn, hot chocolate and more!

    Enjoy different views of the Sun as seen with the telescopes on the balcony on the 5th Floor of CCIS. The Observatory is located in CCIS 5-240, in the Southwest corner of the 5th floor. Everyone is welcome, and there is no admission fee or ticket required. 

  • STEAM Lab at EPL | 3:30 p.m.
    Full STEAM ahead! From robot battles to hovercrafts to building your own games, discover all things Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math. You're invited to try new things and create stuff at this class for junior makers. 

  • FREE Winter Play Day at Emerald Hills Leisure Centre | 5:30 p.m.
    This fun night out is the perfect reason to bundle up and get outside, enjoying a night in the snow at Emerald Hills Recreation Area.

  • UnSilent Night at Strathcona County Library | 7:00 p.m.
    Participate in a 45-minute electronic swirling sound walk through Broadmoor Park and beyond. Spread joy and light to brighten the long winter night! Deck yourself out with twinkle lights, a cell phone and amplifier/speaker.

  • Drop in Stand up Paddleboarding | 5:30 p.m.
    Drop in for stand up paddle boarding in the pool and find a fun way to move your body indoors this winter. This session is drop-in for ages 8+ at Kinsmen Sports Centre, boards included in admission.
