Edmonton Hawrelak Park Reopens March 13, 2026
Edmonton’s beloved William Hawrelak Park is back and better than ever! After a major three-year rehabilitation, the park officially reopens on March 13, 2026, with a Grand Opening Celebration planned for May 30, 2026.
Finishing work and landscaping continues at the park. Visitors should expect active construction areas and perimeter fencing to remain in place. Keep this in mind when you visit with the kids, as not all phases may be operational.
When you visit the reimagined Hawrelak Park, you can look forward to new walking and biking paths, paved trails for all abilities, and a stunning new playground inspired by nature. Kids will love climbing the chickadee and spruce tree structures, racing down epic slides, and exploring bridges and interactive play areas.
The park also boasts a lakefront promenade, cozy fire pits, and spacious picnic areas, making it the perfect spot for spring outings with family and friends. Whether you’re strolling, biking, or just soaking up the scenery, William Hawrelak Park is ready to welcome you back to Edmonton’s outdoor playground and festival hub.
