Drop in Solar Observing at University of Alberta

  • Edmonton, Alberta, T6G 2R3 Canada (map)

The Department of Physics Astronomical Observatory opens its telescopes to the public every Thursday from noon to 1 p.m. for safe, filtered views of the Sun, with sunspots and other solar features visible depending on the day. The observatory sits in CCIS 5-240, on the southwest corner of the 5th floor of the Centennial Centre for Interdisciplinary Science on the University of Alberta's main campus. Drop in any time during the hour; no tickets, registration, or admission fee required. Viewing depends on clear skies, so cloudy days mean no solar view.
