Bring the whole family to Farmfair International, back at the Edmonton EXPO Centre for four days of everything agriculture. It's Alberta's largest beef cattle show, and it's completely free to attend.
Wander through the halls to see livestock competitions up close, watch chicks hatch right before your eyes, or join a guided barn tour to meet the animals face-to-face (sometimes literally — the cattle here get a shampoo and blow-dry before they strut by). Rabbit shows, hands-on agriculture games, and Fitset Ninja challenges round out the kid-friendly lineup.
It's a rare chance for city kids to get a real taste of rural life, all under one roof, and there's plenty to keep little ones entertained for a whole afternoon.
