Meet your emergency responders at Get Ready in the Park! Hosted by the City of Edmonton’s Office of Emergency Management in recognition of Emergency Preparedness Week, the 17th annual Get Ready in the Park event returns on Saturday, May 9, 2026 between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Please Note: This year's event will again take place at the Edmonton EXPO Centre grounds, south of the Edmonton EXPO Centre.
Get Ready in the Park is a free, informative and interactive event that is fun for the whole family: Learn how to prepare for a variety of emergencies. Meet and talk with emergency responders from the Edmonton and metro region. Learn how emergency responders work together on the frontlines during an emergency. See the inside of a fire truck and other emergency vehicles and have lunch at one of the food trucks!
Local emergency responders, along with almost 50 groups from the region’s emergency response community, will be on site to help attendees learn how to prepare for a variety of emergencies.
