There's just one day left to visit the Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Village this season, and it's a good one for families. On Saturday, September 12, the Village celebrates Alberta's agricultural history with an old-fashioned fall harvest — threshing demonstrations, wagon rides, and costumed interpreters ready to talk with your kids about what harvest time looked like in east central Alberta a century ago.
Little ones will love the petting zoo, milking a pretend cow, and getting hands-on at the harvest touch table and sensory play stations. Throughout the historical village, families can wander between homesteads to watch (and sometimes try) traditional crafts: kapusta-making, wool carding and spinning, onion braiding, stone-mill flour grinding, and more. Kids can even join a Seed Detective game at the Grain Elevator.
Hungry after all that exploring? Grab a bite from the Western concession or sit down for a Ukrainian buffet, plus coffee and sweet treats to round out the day.
