Is your 11–15 year old ready for a week filled with safe adventures, real connections to nature, new friendships, and unforgettable experiences that build confidence and curiosity? RiverWatch, the award-winning science program trusted by Alberta teachers for 30 years, has redefined the urban summer camp experience with meaningful adventures that bring the natural world to life.
Each day features a different outdoor discovery and adventure based theme, turning the outdoors into a living classroom. Campers may investigate water quality, identify wildlife, study insects and plants, explore river ecology, learn about invasive species, or uncover how the city and river are connected through engineering and environmental science. It’s active, engaging learning that feels nothing like sitting at a desk.
On the water, youth build confidence as they paddle together, solve challenges, and develop teamwork skills in a supportive small-group setting. They’ll discover hidden shorelines, observe nature up close, and experience parts of Edmonton most people never get to see.
By the end of the week, campers leave with new friendships, stronger confidence, while seeing Edmonton from an unforgettable new perspective.
