Hawrelak Park
Introduction to Hawrelak Park
After three years behind a fence, Hawrelak Park is back — and the new playground is, in our view, the best in the city right now.
It's nature-inspired and built for a wide range of ages. Kids climb through chickadee and spruce tree structures, race down some genuinely epic slides, and work their way across bridges and interactive play features. It's set in the river valley, steps from a lake, with washrooms in a building nearby and parking close by. That combination — great play, beautiful setting, and the practical stuff actually sorted — is rare.
Fair warning: it's busy. This is the city's showpiece park and everyone knows it reopened.
