Every October, the homes along Summerside Grande Boulevard go all out for Halloween. House after house is covered in decorations and lights, and families come from across the city to walk the street and take it all in.

It's free, it's outdoors and you can visit any evening, which makes it one of the easiest Halloween outings in Edmonton. Go after dark, when the lights are on and the displays look their spookiest. Walking is the best way to catch all the details.

Halloween night is the big one. The boulevard draws well over a thousand trick-or-treaters, so expect crowds. If you'd rather skip the busiest night, plan a walk on a weeknight in the days leading up to Halloween instead.

  • Hours: Any evening from mid-October through Halloween. Best after dark

  • Location: Summerside Grande Boulevard SW, between 70 Street and 88 Street, Edmonton

  • Scare Level: Low, though some displays are spookier than others

  • Parking: Street parking in the surrounding neighbourhood. Park a short walk away and be mindful of residents' driveways

  • Good to Know: Halloween night is very busy, so arrive early if you're trick-or-treating
