July Festivals
Edmonton Street Performer’s Festival
July 3-12, 2026 | Churchill Square
Free downtown fun that actually holds a toddler's attention? Yes please. Jugglers, acrobats, and unicyclists take over the square, and there's a whole Kids' World zone with hands-on stuff for the 12-and-under crowd, plus a Busker Academy where they can try juggling and stilt-walking. It runs 10 a.m.–10 p.m. most days. One heads-up: shows are pass-the-hat, so tuck some cash in your bag to tip the performers your kids will inevitably fall in love with.
K-Days
July `17-26, 2026 | Edmonton EXPO Centre
The big one. Ten days of midway rides, Kids Town, SuperDogs, and nightly fireworks at 11 p.m. (though good luck keeping the little ones up that late — no judgment if you bail early). Gates run 11 a.m.–11 p.m. Gate admission is around $15, and ride wristbands are extra — grab those online ahead of time, they're cheaper than at the gate. Pro tip from experience: go for a weekday morning to dodge the worst of the crowds and the afternoon heat.
Taste of Edmonton
July 16-26, 2026 | Churchill Square
Dinner solved, and everyone gets to pick their own thing. Free to walk in, with 230+ sample-sized dishes from 50-plus local spots — perfect for picky eaters and adventurous ones alike. There's live music all day and a newly expanded Kids Area to keep the crew busy between bites. You buy food tickets by the sheet (40 for $59.50 if you grab them before July 15, then $69.50 after). Come hungry, wear comfy shoes.

These no-cost events are a great way to add skill development to your summer adventures. Grab your skateboard (and your helmet) for one of the three free drop-in skateboarding events with local experts. In addition to the free drop in sports programming - you can pop into one of the thirty local Edmonton parks offering free sports equipment rental through the summer months.
Free Edmonton Outdoor Movies
June’s erratic weather has caused the rescheduling of multiple outdoor movies events - so July is going to be stacked with outdoor movies as these get rescheduled. Start the month off strong with Canda Day outdoor movies (finished with fireworks) and continue through the month at the planned community outdoor movies. Find the full schedule in the Edmonton Outdoor Movie Guide
Drop in Solar Observing
Learning something new this summer? Add a visit to the Department of Physics Astronomical Observatory to your summer plans and visit University of Alberta Observatory Thursdays, 12 pm to 1 pm - when visitors can drop in anytime during this hour. We’ve already started and smashed eight books this summer with the encourage of an early-start summer reading club!
Visit Miquelon Lake
This summer, there are programs happening every single week at Miquelon Lake. Kids can peek in a pond, take a walk to learn more about food that can be foraged from the local woodlands and even learn about the snakes in Alberta at one of the hour-long sessions.

The children’s gallery will entertain younger children for hours, while the older kids wander through the museum engaging in their summer programming.
Become a Garden Explorer at Strathcona County Museum & Archives
Garden Explorers is a brand new program for children aged four and older (and their adults) at Strathcona Museum and Archives! Drop by from 10:30–11:00 AM for gardening experience, every Friday in July. Children will have the opportunity to earn pins, and even take home small plants.
