A Massive Pyro-Drone Show is Popping up in Edmonton on October 25 - and it’s Free
River Cree Resort & Casino turns 20 this month. To celebrate, it’s putting on what it bills as the biggest pyro-drone show in Alberta, and it’s free for all ages. If your kids have never seen a drone light show, this is a great reason to stay up late!
Free Drone Light Show at River Cree Resort & Casino October 2026
The Pyro-Drone show mixes two things kids love: hundreds of synchronized drones forming shapes in the sky, and a full fireworks display. Both are choreographed to music. It was designed just for River Cree’s 20th Anniversary Celebration Weekend, so this is a one-time show, not a repeat of something you’ve seen before.
The show starts at 9:00 PM on Sunday, October 25. You’ll watch it from River Cree’s North East Lot, just west of Edmonton’s city limits in Enoch. Admission is free and you don’t need tickets.
Tips for Families
Plan for a late night. A 9 PM start on a Sunday makes for a late bedtime before school. Pack pyjamas for the ride home and let little ones doze in the car afterward.
Dress for an outdoor evening. You’ll be standing in a parking lot in late October, so bring toques, mitts and a blanket.
Arrive early. A free show on a big anniversary weekend will draw a crowd. Get there with time to park and find a good spot.
Bring ear protection for little ones or anyone sensitive to fireworks noise.
