CPKC Holiday Train 2026: Every Alberta Stop, Time and Performer
The CPKC Holiday Train returns to Alberta from December 8 to 15, with 26 stops between Medicine Hat and Banff. Each stop is a free, roughly 30-minute outdoor concert. The train is about 1,000 feet long and covered in lights, and one boxcar opens into a stage. Local food banks collect food and cash donations at every stop.
American Authors and Tyler Shaw play the December 8 stops. From December 11 on, Sam Roberts Band and Owen Riegling take over.

What to Know Before You Go
Bring a donation. Non-perishable food or cash goes directly to the local food bank. Since 1999, the Holiday Train has raised more than $28.3 million and collected over 5.6 million pounds of food.
Dress for a long wait outside. Most stops are after dark, and trains can arrive early or late. Warm boots matter most, since you’ll be standing on snow or ice.
Stay back from the tracks. CPKC asks everyone to stay at least 15 metres (50 feet) from the rails and off the gravel beside them.
There are no rides. The train is only for watching and the concert.
