Free Drop-In Swimming Is Back at These Two Sherwood Park Pools

Fall just got a lot more splash-friendly for Strathcona County families. Strathcona County is bringing back free sponsored swims at two Sherwood Park pools this September through December, and this time there's a bonus: a free voucher from Pasta Pantry while supplies last.

Here's where to grab your goggles for free swimming in Sherwood Park with kids

Kinsmen Leisure Centre

Wednesdays: Sep. 2, Oct. 7, Nov. 4, Dec. 2 Time: 3:15 to 5:45 p.m.

Emerald Hills Leisure Centre

Saturdays: Sep. 19, Oct. 17, Nov. 21, Dec. 12 Time: 5:30 to 8 p.m. Bonus: an inflatable will be in the pool for these sessions, so expect extra giggles (and maybe a little extra chaos) from the kids.

Swim admission is completely free at both locations on these dates. On top of that, thanks to the sponsorship from Pasta Pantry, guests can pick up a free Pasta Pantry voucher while supplies last — a nice way to turn pool day into an easy, no-cook dinner night. We like to use the vouchers on a Monday, when kids eat for $1.99 at Pasta Pantry - extending your food budget even more.

Here’s what you should know before you go

Strathcona County's safety rules apply for these sessions: children under 8 must stay within arm's reach of a person 14 or older at all times, and one supervising adult can bring a maximum of three children under 8.

Since these are free, sponsored sessions, they tend to draw a crowd — arriving a little early is never a bad idea, especially for the inflatable swim at Emerald Hills.
