For teens who want ‘something to do’ after school in Edmonton or a third space at the local recreation centre; Edmonton's After-School Youth Pass is one of the best-kept deals in the city — full access to every City of Edmonton recreation centre for a low monthly offer for students and youth.
What does the After school pass include?
The City of Edmonton Youth pass gives youth ages 8-17 access to fitness centres, pools, and gyms at every City of Edmonton recreation centre — not just one location, all of them — on weekdays between 1pm and 5:30pm. That's more than 75% off a regular-priced youth monthly membership.
Monthly membership: $20/month
Drop-in: $2/day
City of Edmonton Youth Pass
Valid weekdays only, including statutory holidays and school holidays — not weekends.
Youth must scan in or drop in between 1:00pm and 5:30pm.
A MoveLearnPlay account is now required to purchase the pass or scan in at several recreation centres, including Coronation Park, Commonwealth, Kinsmen, and Clareview. Set this up in advance so your teen isn't stuck at the front desk.
Kids ages 12-15 must complete the free Youth in Action course before they can use the fitness centre — it covers basic fitness and weight training, etiquette, and safety. Register for this ahead of time through select recreation centres.
Kids under 12 cannot use the fitness centre at all, though pool and gym access still apply.
Pass holders can purchase online or in person at any recreation centre between September and June.
