We’ve been out of the home and learning on the go around the city with field trips and plenty of outdoor time during the ongoing teachers’ strike in Edmonton. With two children in grades one and three, and cooler weather coming in, this week, we’re heading back to the books with fun activities through trusted resources.

What is Kidoodle.TV

Kidoodle.TV is a Calgary-based safe streaming service that we discovered when our oldest was younger. It’s designed especially for kids, with safe, age-appropriate content. Every title and ad is carefully curated and human-vetted to ensure it’s appropriate, positive, and meaningful—making streaming easier for parents and safer for kids.

We recently discovered the ‘Teacher’s Corner’ which provides printable resources for at-home educators and teachers of children in grades kindergarten through three.

The Teachers’ Corner offers videos and accompanying lesson resources that you can print and adapt for use at-home during the teachers’ strike (and beyond!) These are simple to print, without a complicated log-in or printing process, and come with a dedicated lesson plan!

The videos are kid-friendly, age-appropriate in length, which are perfect for the attention span of young children.
