Free Family Nature Walk in Whitemud Park

  • 13204 Fox Drive Northwest Edmonton, AB, T6H 4P3 Canada (map)

Join the Edmonton Nature Club and Nature Alberta as we get in touch with the natural world all around us! Family Nature Walks are opportunities for families to get outdoors and, guided by local nature enthusiasts, learn more about the wild species that we live alongside.

Explore the Whitemud Creek ravine to look for lady slippers, shooting stars, and other neat wildflowers! Along the way we'll also keep an eye out for butterflies, bees, and other pollinators joining in our wildflower search. Grace Kwong from the Edmonton Nature Club and Nature Alberta's Nick Carter will show participants how to find and identify plants, pollinators, and other ravine residents, and we'll record our findings on iNaturalist as part of the Alberta Biodiversity Challenge!

To Register:

Spaces are limited, so email Nick Carter at naturekids@naturealberta.ca to reserve your now! Please include how many youth and adults will be in your party. If the event is at capacity, guests will be added to a waitlist and contacted if spots open up. Please note that any participants under 18 must be accompanied by a parents or guardian.
