Free Drop-in Fun in Downtown Edmonton's Parks

Looking for a free downtown outing that changes with the day of the week? All summer, the City of Edmonton and the Edmonton Arts Council take over five downtown park spaces with yard games, live music, DJ sets, and performances — and you can just show up. No tickets, no registration, nothing to pack but sunscreen.

The lineup rotates by park, so you can pick your day. Mondays (every other week), Alex Decoteau Park runs backyard games and local DJs from 5 to 8 PM. Wednesdays, Beaver Hills House Park and Michael Phair Park trade off with yard games and live performances — music, dance, and more — alternating between a midday and an evening slot. Sundays(every other week), O‑day'min Park fills up with giant board games and family activities from noon to 4 PM.

The one to circle for kids: Tee Time on Centennial Plaza. Every Friday, free mini golf sets up behind the Stanley A. Milner Library from 11 AM to 6 PM, with DJs spinning through the afternoon. Free downtown mini golf is a hard offer to beat on a hot day.

Downtown Playdates Free Summer Park Program
