Edmonton Green Shack Summer Programs
Edmonton Green Shack Program
The Edmonton Green Shack Program is a free summer drop-in recreation program offered by the City of Edmonton for children aged 6–12, though participants of all ages are welcome. Located in parks across the city, Green Shacks provide supervised games, sports, crafts, and other fun activities that encourage physical activity, creativity, and community engagement during the summer months.
Edmonton Green Shack Shows
The Edmonton Green Shack Shows are free outdoor performances that happen in parks across the city during the summer.
They’re organized by the Edmonton Arts Council in partnership with the City of Edmonton, and they bring entertainers directly into neighbourhood playgrounds. The shows usually include things like magic acts, music, theatre, puppet performances, dance, and interactive activities for kids and families. They run five days a week in July and August, with shows in the morning and afternoon at different Green Shack locations.
The goal is to turn local parks into small community “pop-up stages” so kids can enjoy live entertainment while also taking part in regular Green Shack activities like games and crafts.
This summer, shows will begun July 6 through August 28, 2026, with shows five days a week .
