STRATHMA Free Drop-in Garden Explorers

Free Friday Morning Gardening Program for Kids in Edmonton

Looking for a fun and free outdoor activity for kids in Edmonton? STRATHMA Garden Explorers is a hands-on gardening program designed for children ages 4+ and their parents. Families can drop in on Friday mornings to explore nature, care for a shared garden bed, and learn about plants through interactive activities.

Each session gives children the chance to get their hands dirty while planting, tending the garden, and discovering how things grow. Kids will also take home a seedling, making it easy to continue the gardening fun at home.

The first Garden Explorers session begins May 29, 2026, when families will help plant the garden together. Children attending the launch will receive their own bean plant to take home and grow.

Young gardeners who attend five or more sessions can earn a special Garden Explorers pin as a reward for their participation. Best of all, this family-friendly program is completely free, making it an easy way to enjoy quality time outdoors and connect with nature.
